RALLYING POINT FOR CHURCHES i The necessity for a central office to serve as a rallying point for the inter- ; ests of the Presbyterian Church in i j Auckland was raised at Tuesday's i meeting of the Auckland Presbytery j when a letter was received from the Rev. W. Mawson, secretary of the Asi sembly’s foreign mission committee. I The suggestion was referred to the I presbytery’s property and finance comI mittee for report to the next meeting of the presbytery. A committee was set up to consider a request from the Belmont parish for a readjustment of the boundaries between it and the Takapuna parish. His resignation from the Morningside Church, where he had served for three years, was forwarded by the ; Rev. P. J. Wainwright, who lias been i appointed to Birkenhead. A plea on behalf of the work of the Youth Movement Against Alcoholism was made by Mr. A. Miller, a student : for the ministry. 1 The question of union with other churches was referred to the public ► questions committee for consideration. * There was a large attendance at the i meeting, which was presided over by : the moderator, the Rev. F. A. Thompj son.
