DIPLOMAS IN FARMING

ADVOCATED FOR STUDENTS The opinion that there were many young people each year who completed an education with an agricultural bias, and then went on the land without any tangible proof of their studies, was expressed by the secretary of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Mr. W. F. O’Donnell, At a meeting of the executive of the association yesterday. It was agreed to recomnVend to the Royal Show Conference at Wellington next month that a national -diploma of dairying and a similar award in agriculture should be established. It was also decided to send a representative to the conference, the member to be chosen later. A vote of sympathy was 'passed to the relatives of the late Mr, ; .Si Hodge, who was actively connected with the association for many years.
