Prom Our Oicn Correspo)ulent TAUMARUNUI, Today. The all-amateur tournament staged by the Taumarunui Boxing Association on Saturday evening attracted a very big attendance. Mr. Frank Burns, of Auckland, was referee, and Mr. W. L. Bakewell, of Taumarunui, official announcer. The-principal bouts were: The main contest, a lieavy-Weight, between G. !?C. Frear (heavy-weight champion of the Auckland University College) and Terry Mullins (King Country light-heavy-weight champion and heavy-weight champion) resulted in a draw, but public opinion was largely in favour of a win for Mullins. Middle-weights.—Francis (Owhango) beat R. Bakewell (Taumarunui). L. Thomas (Manawatu) beat J. Dillon (Taihape). Malone (Taumarunui) lost to Stebbings (Owhango). Welters.—J. Plank (Ohakune) beat C. McMahon (Taihape). Reilly (Taihape) beat A. Simcock (Taumarunui). Clarrie Craig (Auckland provincial light-weight champion and holder of the Tutchen Shield) beat Charlie Haddon (King Country champion) after a great fight. Light-weights.—J. Roper (Taumarunui) beat J. Andrews (Te Kuiti). J. Dyson (Frankton) lost to A. Day (Taihape). B. Andrews (Te Kuiti) beat C. Rush (Ohakune). J. McMahon (Taihape) beat W. Jamieson (Ohakune). Heavy.—E. Holmes (Te Kuiti) beat Thurston (Taihape).
