NEW ANGLICAN VICAR

REV. J. E. DRAPER OF OPOTIKI The newly-appointed vicar of the parish of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Auckland, in succession to the Rev. G. Gordon Bell, who has been appointed vicar of St. Andrew’s Church, Cambridge, and Archdeacon of 'Waikato, is the Rev. J. E. Draper, of Opotiki. Educated under the late Canon Foster at St. Paul’s Missionary College, Burgh, in the diocese of Lincoln, England, Mr. Draper, while stir a* student, saw service in the Great War. Upon his return he passed the examination ior the licentiate of theology of the University of Durham. Mr. Draper was ordained deacon to the Bishop of Waiapu by the Bishop of London in St. Paul’s in 1921, and was ordained a priest by the Bishop of Waiapu the following year. On his urrival in New Zealand he was appointed curate of Danncvirke, where he remained tin til 1923, when he was appointed curate of Hastings. It was in 1925 that he became vicar of Opotiki.
