DREADFUL DISASTER IN RUMANIA ESCAPE OF PRINCESS BTJKAREST, Saturday. An earthquake, followed by a great tidal wave, shook the country near Constanza today, and many serious casualties occurred. Princess Ileana was nearly drowned when the tidal wave caught her yacht, in which sh'e was sailing from Constanza, and dashed it on to a reef. The Princess reached the shore with the crew in a dinghy after a perilous escape. After the earthquake darkness overspread the country, with the result that the express from Constanza to Bukarest dashed through a group of railway workers, six of whom were killed and many others injured. The driver did not know of the occurrence unfil on arrival at Bukarest he found the engine was splashed with blood. Many houses were damaged. A woman was killed when a statue of the Virgin Mary fell from a niche in a church.
