In a wrestling match, Pesek, 13st 91b, defeated Santel, 13st 11 lb, in the third round after no fall had been obtained. It was a non-stop match of one hour. EKLUND BEATS GARDINI WRESTLING IN DUNEDIN Press Association DUNEDIN, Sunday. The wrestling match last evening between Clarence Eklund, light-lieavy-weight champion of the world, 12st. 121 b, and Maracci Gardini, the Italian American * light-heavy-weight champion, was won by Eklund, whd obtained a fall in the fifth round of an eightround contest. The winner showed superior ringcraft and greater experience that his opponent. Gardini’s gameness was recognised'by the crowd. A gold medal offered by Eklund for the best amateur in the preliminary bouts was woh by T. Walker, who Farmer Vance*; the referee, remarked would make a good opponent for the winner of the amateur bouts at Auckland.
