DRUNKEN MAN’S REVENGE AFTER DISPUTE MUST PAY £6 DAMAGE Piqued, according to Sub-In-spector McCarthy, because he was unable to get his own way in an argument. Thomas Kelly sought revenge last evening by putting his foot through a pfate-glass -window valued at £6. Kelly, a seaman anti labourer, aged S 3, was charged at the Police Court this morning with being found drunk in Victoria Street and committing mischief by wilfully damaging a window valued at £6, the property of Thompson and Hill. 112 Victoria Street. “I plead guilty to being found drunk, but 1 don't remember anything about the other,” he said. The sub-inspector said that the man Went into a fishmonger’s shop and an argument followed. Unable to get his own way, he left the shop, but returned later, and, after three attempts, succeeded in putting his foot through the thick plate-glass window. The sub-inspector's statement was corroborated by the owner of the shop. Kelly was fined 10s, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment for drunkenness -and ordered to make good the damage, in default one month's imprisonment on the second charge. Witnesses’ expenses amounted to £1 10s.
