TOWED OFF BEACH THIS MORNING TO WELLINGTON FOR REPAIRS Press Associatioyi GISBORNE, Today. Efforts to refloat the stranded Kahika proved successful at 2.30 this morning. when the steamer was towed to her anchorage by the tug Terawhiti. Her Ciisborne cargo will be discharged today. The Kahika will then be towed to Wellington to have repairs done to her propeller, two blades of which were lost when the, vessel grounded. The salvage operations were carried out under the direction of Captain P. J. Foster, marine superintendent of the Union Company.
