MACDONALD FOR HOME
PUBLIC WELCOME PLANNED AT LIVERPOOL LONDON MAYOR’S BANQUET British Official Wireless Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Sunday. Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, the Prime Minister, who is on his way home from Canada aboard the liner Duchess of York, is due to reach Liverpool on Friday. He will be welcomed on his arrival by some of his Cabinet colleagues. A public demonstration of welcome is being planned by the Liverpool branch of the Labour Party. The Prime Minister’s most important public engagement after his arrival in London will be the Lord Mayor's banquet at the London Guildhall on November 9, and the newspapers anticipate that in his speech on this occasion special reference will be made to the visit to the United States and Canada, and to the Five Powers’ Conference on naval disarmament, which is to take place in London in January.
