TIVOLI

NEW PICTURES TOMORROW “Piccadilly,” the big British film of exclusive London night-club life, will be shown at the Tivoli Theatre for the last time this evening. Gilda Gray, Anna May Wong and Jameson Thomas are the stars. There are also bright supporting films. A new romantic team is brought to the screen at the Tivoli tomorrow, when Billie Dove’s newest starring vehicle for First National, “The Man and the Moment.” will be shown. Rod La Rocque, one of the most popular leading men in Hollywood, is seen opposite Miss Dove in this hectic love story from the pen of Elinor Glyn. Laßocque was chosen to play this important role because of his romantic appeal and histrionic ability. “The Man and the Moment” is a typical Glyn love story interwoven with jazz parties and fast living. Gwyn Lee, the popular blonde actress, is seen as the “other woman” in the story. The picture provides the beautiful Miss Dove with some exotic backgrounds, and is expected to prove one of the big hits of the present season in this city. With the combination of Billie Dove as star, and Rod Laßocque as male lead, Mme. Glyn as author and Fitzmaurice as director, First National seems to have achieved the ultimate in modern pep and jazz. SUBURBAN THEATRES At the Prince Edward Theatre this evening the films are “Lily of Killarney” (a charming Irish melodrama starring famous English actors), and “Thou Shalt Not Steal” (a continental drama starring Lillian Harvey). The Grey Lynn Cinema is showing “The House of Horror” (a mystery tliriller starring Chester Conklin), and good supports.
