CLUB JOTTINGS The annual visit to Helensville will
bo made on Saturday, September 14. Members should book seats by Saturday next, September 7. Buses leave Reservoir at 2 p.m., top of Symonds Street 2.15 p.m. The inter-section plav, on the two-life system, of the recent pairs tourney will be held on Saturday, September 21, at 1.30 p.m. sharp in the Ponsonby Drill Hall. Visitors are cordially welcomed. The Pascoe Cup tourney (full rinks) of the Independent Order of Recliabites, in which all the district is engaged, was advanced a further stage during the week. This tournament is spread over the winter months and each lodge lias the benefit of one or two visits of all the competing teams. On this occasion the Birkenhead Tent was visited. The members and their women friends entertained the teams to supper during the evening and a very sociable time was spent. The social side of these tourneys is looked upon by many players as the most enjoyable. The leaders at present are Gordon Tent. Onehunga, 10A wins, Eden Tent A team and Mount Albert Tent, each 3 0 wins. With a number of games still to be played, the result is still open. The next round will be played in Mount Albert Tent’s lodge room on Thursday next, September 5. On Thursday evening last in response to an invitation from Mr. M. s: O’Connor to try out his putting green as an indoor bowling green, members of the executive of the Auckland Indoor Bowling Association and . friends paid an informal visit to the Olympic Sports Rooms. Harris (i; Jenkin 10, v. Francis 6. After partaking of a dainty supper, members tried their hands at putting. They were shown all over the premises and most sports were sampled.
