RENT MOUNTS UP
INURING a discussion at the Otahuhu Trotting Club’s annual general meeting on the question of racing on the club’s property at Otahuhu, the chairman, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, said that from 1923 to 1929 they had paid just about £IB,OOO to the Auckland Trotting Club for rent of Alexandra Park for four days’ racing annually. “Weil," said one member, “that sum would have helped considerably to pay the interest on suitable buildings on our own course."
