PONSONBY W.C.T.U. BRANCH

At the last monthly meeting of the Fonsonby Branch of the W.C.T.U., Mrs. Turnbull gave a very interesting address on “Women in the Slums of London.” A resolution was passed:—"That in view of the shocking circumstances disclosed in the recent Emslev case, we, the members of the Ponsonby Branch of the W.C.T.U.. strongly urge the Government to amend the law in regard to the protection of women.” An emphatic protest was also passed against the Minister of Customs allowing a brewery to be erected at Otahuhu "without consulting the wish of the peophV"
