“OLD FOLKS AT HOME”
UNIQUE GUILD AFTERNOON A very pleasant function was held in St. John's Methodist School Hall, Pon | sonby Road, on Tuesday afternoon when the usual monthly meeting of the ! guild took the form of an “Old Polks’ jat Home.” The gathering was largo many former members of the s* John’s Guild being present, j Mrs. Smith was the recipient of ■ Victorian posy, being the oldest woman J present, and Mr. Blackwell, of a silk ! handkerchief. • being the oldest mnn present. The opportunity was taken by the president, the Rev. A. Mitchell, to present to Mrs. Reed, the guild's accompanist. a handbag, with the guild’s appreciation of her willing and untiring services. Musical items were given by Mesdames Reed and Moses, and the Rev. A. Mitchell. Afternoon tea was served* and brought to a conclusion a happy afternoon.
