BOWLING CLUBS
PONSONBY ANNUAL MEETING The annual social evening of the Ponsonby Bowling Club was held on plied to by Air. J. Sehishka. The following toast list was honoured: —Auckland Centre, proposed by Afu. J. Stichbury, and replied to by Alessrs. J. W. Hardley and E. W. Wright; .Ponsonby Bowling Club, proposed by Air. A. E. Whitten and replied to by Air. J. Schiska. An enjoyable programme was presented by the following artists: Alessrs. A. AlcElwain, Dickie, Smithson, Foster, Whitmore. Pickering, Chapman, Calvert, Cooper and Booth. Mr. J. W. Hardley presented the prizes won during the past season. A presentation was made to Air. F. Goodacre in appreciation of his work in connection with the billiard tables. During the evening two presentations were made to the president on behalf of the club members. Mr. A. Parsons gave a case of badges, which he had collected during his bowling career, while Air. R. Somervell, vice-presi-dent, presented a handsome flag in the club’s new colours of blue and black. Glasgow, F. Hard. J. Logan. C. E. Finch, J. L. Pirret, E. W. Fielder, C. A. Vaughan; green superintendent, Mr. J. Logan; delegates to the Northern Waikato Bowling Association. Alessrs. W. J. Deeble and C. Smeed; representative on Auckland Centre. Air. A. C. Tonkin: representative of country clubs. Air. A. B. Barter; auditor. Mr. A. IT. Tapper: solicitor. Air. G. Arrowsmith.
