Mr. Cox said that the foreman was at Pjeserit In a good job, and there were wenty of people in the district willing accept the position. When asked by cliiiirman if he still wanted to call Pmications. he said that if the board •id derided to appoint the foreman, he nothing more to say. but the ratepayers would have something to say if in ® appointment was made. Messrs. Ferguson and Fawcett •‘srreed to the withdrawal of their •"'Mion. and the clerk was authorised applications for the position. 1 he clerk reported receipt of a dona•orj of £2 from the Manurewa picket Club, in appreciation of the P ,p ndid condition in which the grounds were kept. l n answer to Mr. Osborne, the clerk that the football club had no payment up to date. r . The Franklin County Council advised -©commencement of relief work in the franklin County, and asked that the names of any unemployed married men n the Manurewa town district be for**">*<l at once. The clerk was authorised to ask that ( a vacancies be reserved for residents ot the Manurewa district.
