COUNCIL DONATIONS
MOUNT EDEN BUSINESS Donations made last evening by the Mount Eden Borough Council were £5 to the St. John Ambulance Association; £2 2s to the Labour Day Celebration Committee; and £2 2s to the Eden Rugby Football Club. Cr. J. M. Melville was reappointed the council’s accredited represenative at the election of local body members •■>£ the Seddon Memorial Technical College. The Finance Committee is to disc uss * letter from the Mount Albert Bor°ugh Council asking if the council *ould co-operate in a protest against water charges. The monthly building report showed -3 permits issued, at a value of £8,624. There were 13 shops, and five houses. Grinter Bros.’ tender of £1,353 11s wag accepted for surface water drain*ffe between Balmoral Road and DexAvenue. The estimated cost was *1,435.
