HEAVY SPENDING
TRANSPORT BOARD PAYS OUT £57,000 NO ANNUAL TICKETS Accounts totalling £57,086 were passed for payment by the Transport Board shis morning. The sum was made up as follows: Wages (five weeks), £31,361: (two periods), £1,648; Auckland City Council, interest on loans. £2,500: Auckland Electric-Power Board, for current, £6.798: City Council, for rates, £4,030; other accounts. £10.748. In reply to a request by the Mount Albert Borough Council that reconsideration be given to its suggestion that annual passes be made available to the general public, the board decided to adhere to its original decision.
