Gisborne Harbour Report The report on the Gisborne harbour works by Mr. F. W. Furkert, engineer-in-chief. was received by the Harbor ' Board. The report generally expresses satisfaction with the stability of the works.—P.A. Child Mauled by Dog A little child. George McCarthy, whose parents live at Karapoti. was badly mauled about the left cheek by a dog at Xgaliauranga yesterday afternoon. His injuries necessitated his removal to hospital.—P.A‘•Gisborne’’ Visits Gisborne To celebrate the first visit of th motor-ship Port Gisborne to the port after which it was named, the execu - tive of the C. and D. Line entertained the Mayor and representative citizens at luncheon aboard the vessel. P.A. Cricket Will Clash With Athletes The amended programme for the English cricket team’s tour now provides a Test match at Wellington on January 25, the date of the appearance there of the Canadian athletes. The athletic authorities a short time, ago altered their itinerary so as to avoid a clash with any cricket fixture and now draw attention to the fact that another clash has occurred.
