BIG BANANA SHIPMENT LOCAL FRUITS WELL SOUGHT A heavy shipment of Island bananas for the Auckland markets wilj be unloaded from the Tofua this afternoon. At the present time, the inquiry for bananas is satisfactory. Island oranges are in fair demand. Dull sales continue for offerings of lemons and poorman oranges. Local fruits are sought fairly well and no change in price has taken place from last week’s sales. Prime cookers are being cleared easily and there is an increasing tendency in the rates for choice Delicious. Hothouse tomatoes are now attracting little attention. Root vegetables were 'again particularly heavily supplied today. The vegetable market is well stocked in most lines and prices are unchanged, although new potatoes are likely to carry out the indications of a rise in price.
