Foresters' Dance

PLAIN AND FANCY DRESS EVENING HELD BY BIRKENHEAD LODGE BALLOONS AND STREAMERS The Social Committee of Court Birkenhead, .of the Ancient Order of , held a successful plain and fancy dress old-time dance in the : Victoria Hall, Birkenhead, on Saturday The hall looked gay with its decorations of balloons and coloured stream- ; ers. May all's Orchestra supplied the dance music, which was greatly apprei ciated. Mr. J. Blackledge successfully carried out the duties of M.C. The costumes were judged by Mr. and Mrs. C. Snow, the prize-winners being: Best women's fancy dress. Miss Irene Harding, as an Eastern Princess: • Miss Jeffries, as an Old English : j Gentleman, winning the men’s prize: I Mr. W. Bloor was awarded first prize j for the most com-Td, as Felix, the : Cat; Mrs. J. Grade won first prize for the most original, as "Hinemoa ' Park Lawn"; and Mrs. B. Mayall was J awarded the extra prize in this class ;as Queen of Hearts' 5 : the men's prize ; for the most original costume was awarded to Mr. W. Copeland, as Black | and White. COMING-OF-AGE PARTY MISS ISABELLE DUNN IS GUEST OF HONOUR A most enjoyable evening was spent on Saturday last, when 31 r. and 3lrs. J. Dunn gave a party in honour of the ooming-of-age of their daughter, Isabelle. The dance room was beautifully decorated with balloons and streamers, and the evening was spent in dancing and games. 3lrs Bunn received her guests wearing navy georgette, with beige trimmings. 3liss Isabelle Dunn wore white : taffeta with uneven hemline, and emI broidered with silver. i Among those present were:—3lrs.
