ST. MICHAEL’S CATHOLIC SOCIAL CLUB Deft fingers had added gay touches of colour to the social hall and card room when the members of St. Michael’s Catholic Social Club entertained their friends at a jolly little dance and card evening at Beatrice Road, Remuera. Vari-coloured streamers harmonised with the clusters of balloons with which they were looped up. Mrs. F. O’Donnell and Miss Nelson were the winners of the Monte Carlo waltz, and Miss Mona Oddy won the prize for the spot waltz. Misses Judd and Green and Mr. F. Jury provided excellent dance music. Hanlen, who chose blue crepe de chine and lace, shawl to tone; Aliss Kida Henry, wearing mauve crepe de chine, uneven hemline; Aliss A. Peacock, in leaf-green crepe de chine, trimmed with bands of white satin; Aliss K. E. Barry, in a period frock of taffeta and tulle; Airs. P. R. Barry, who chose black georgette and lace. Miss AI. Holland, in floral crepe de chine; Aliss V. Young, pale pink georgette; Aliss Dando, wearing primrose taffeta; Aliss Elsie Young, who wore apple-green crepe de chine, embroidered in gold thread and embossed shawl to tone; Aliss Joan Robertson, whose frock was of coral pink frilled georgette, rose spray; Aliss V. Blackburn, Otahuhu, in primrose satin and diamente buckle; Aliss Alay Judd, wearing ciel blue and silver frock, rosebud relief; Miss K. Nobbs, Otahuhu, in lemon chenille velvet; Aliss E. Ford, who wore floral chenille velvet; Aliss Rose Webb, in green and silver lace, with white shawl; Aliss D. Nobbs, Otahuhu, who chose apricot panne velvet, with diamente buckle; Aliss Cecilia Soares, who wore orange crepe de chine, with gold lace overdress, blue crepe de chine shawl: Miss Y. White, Otahtibu, in scarlet ring velvet and silver; Aliss Alary Leah, who wore silvered blue crepe de chine, with silver trimmings; Aliss Alona Oddy, in mauve crepe fleuri, with velvet posy and shawl to tone; Aliss Evelyn Soares, in ivory georgette, diamente trimming, blue shawl; Aliss K. Foley, who wore rose and silver chiffon taffeta, black shawl.
