ST. JAMES
"FRANK O’BRIAN’S REVELLERS” There are quite a number of bright and merry spots in the programme now being presented at the St. James Theatre, and Fran O’Brian, the leader of the band of “Revellers,” now gracing the stage, is the star of most of them. The Revellers Company, which is headed by Janice Hart and Frank O’Brian as chief fun makers, includes the particularly fine jazz band known as Tiny Douglas’s Varsity Boys. They draw widely on their apparently endless repertoire of novel items. Their music keeps feet tapping merrily. Several new songs and duets are pi'esented by Mabelle Morgan, Eric Masters and Marie Ward, and the dancing of the beauty ballet is, of course, one of the most popular features.
Nancy Carroll’s performance as Rosemary in the Paramount sound synchronised production. "Abie's Irish Rose,” has been classed by a prominent motion picture trade magazine as one of the best of the year.
