INSULTED WOMEN
CRIPPLE GAOLED FOR MONTH There have been many complaints about the behaviour of Thomas McFacUlen lately with the result that the man appeared ill the Police Court this morning oil charges of vagrancy and drunkenness. McFadden, aged 51, pleaded guilty to being found drunk in Albert Street, but denied that he was idle or disorderly. Under the classification headed employment on the charge sheet, the word “nil' was opposite McFadden’s name. According to Constable Hughes, McFadden was always begging in tin; streets. He would do no work and used obscene language to women. Accused asked for a chance. “Fined 10s. in default 4S hours’ imprisonment.'' remarked Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. "Thank you.” said McFadden, turning to leave the dock. * ‘•That is on the first charge,” added the magistrate. “We haven't finished vet. You are sentenced to a term of 'one month's imprisonment on the vagrancy charge.” It was mentioned that McFadden, who was a cripple, had been in receipt of charitable aid.
