CRIMINAL SESSION
MANY CASES FOR THE SUPREME COURT VARIOUS CHARGES A list of 22 criminal cases for trial will be presented at the quarterly session of the Supreme Court, which opens on Tuesday under Sir Alexander Herdman and Mr. Justice Ostler. Fight of the indictments are sexual cases, while there are two prosecutions arising out of fatal motor accidents. The list of prisoners and charges is as under: Julius Barth, perjury, at Auckland. John Thomas Kirk, indecent assault and carnal knowledge, at Auckland. Alfred Richard Dickman, incest, at Auckland. George Philip Fletcher, negligent driving, causing death, at Pukekohe. George Joseph Silver, forgery, at Auckland. Arthur Collins, assault causing bodily harm, and indecent assault. Raymond Claude Tanfield, carnal knowledge, at Auckland. James Kirby, negligent driving causing death, at Kaitaia.
Edward James Manhire, taking a girl out of the possession of her guardian for immoral purposes. Robert Maddox, attempted murder, at Auckland. Peter Alexander Elmsley, cruelty to wife, at Waerenga. Harry Davis, carnal knowledge, at Auckland. Albert Ernest Austin, rape, at Auckland. George Lee. receiving stolen property, at Auckland. Edward James Euisden, theft, at Auckland. Frederick Alexander Brydon, ob taining money by false pretences, at Auckland. Arthur Strange, false pretences, at Auckland. Harry Cooper Douglas, obtaining money by menaces. Austin Walker, indecent assault and indecent acts. There is also a charge against a woman at Whangarei of making a fraudulent statement that she had posted a postal packet containing money. A man will also be charged with indecent assault at Da.rgaville.
