TRAWLING DISPUTE DRAGS ON ANOTHER MEETING HELD Although, a further meeting was held by the men concerned no fresh developments have occurred in the dispute between Sanford, Limited, and the crews of their trawlers. Yesterday afternoon unofficial overtures were made to the employers by the men. Asked if they had anything further to offer, the employers stated that the concession offered to the men the previous week still stood. Otherwise they had nothing further to offer. Interviewed this morning, Mr. T. ‘P. Anderson, secretary of the Seamen’s Union, said that no fresh developments had occurred. Mr. A. W. Brockie, general manage of Sanford, Limited, who was also questioned, said he had no information to give. Two of the company’s trawlers, the James Cosgrove and the Thomas Currell, are to come out of dock today and will berth at Western Wharf. They will not be sent to sea immediately, as Mr. A. W. Brockie, general manager of Sanford, Limited, states that two trawlers will have no difficulty in maintaining the supplies of fish for the local market.
The Humphrey, which is now at sea manned by non-union labour, is expected to return to port on Monday.
