THAMES V A LLEY DRAINAGE
WAITOA FAVOURS AMALGA-
MATION . The Waitoa Drainage Board at its meeting this week discussed the proposal for the amalgamation of the Waitoa, Elstow Hungahunga and other drainage boards, and a motion was carried unanimously supporting the proposal. The chairman, Mr. Watson, said he was strongly in favour- The question of representation, it seemed, was the main objection from some of the other board members, but with paid officers, and in view of the facts that most of the drains required were made, he could not find any weighty arguments against the scheme. The clerk was instructed to write to the Hungahuga, Tahuna and Elstow Boards and the Matamata County Council asking for information with regard to areas forming the watersheds.
