THE VAUXHALL CLUB SUCCESSFUL YEAR’S WORK The annual meeting of the Vauxhali Tennis Club was held at the Narrow Neck Hall on Thursday evening, Mr. D. A. Clarke presiding over a large attendance. The annual report showed that the club had had an excellent season. The credit balance was £46 13s 2d. At the beginning of last season the club affiliated with the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, and much benefit was derived. It was unanimously decided to remain affiliated. The winners of the club’s ladder competitions were Miss H. Bailey (run-ner-up, Mrs. Newman) and Mr. B. Elwarth (runner-up, Mr. J. Newman). It was resolved to hold club championships, and also to set aside Wednesday of each week as ladies’ day during the coming season. The following officers were elected; Patron, Mr. E. A. Aldridge; president, Mr. D. A. Clarke; secretary, Mr. Reg. Harvey; treasurer. Miss A. Penman; auditor, Mr. F. Eyre; lion, solicitor, Mr. B. Elwarth; committee. Mrs. Carter, Misses F. Henderson and H.

Bailey, Messrs. B. Elwarth, G. H. Robins, D. Ross and J. McLaughlin (all re-elected). OTOROHANGA CLUB (From. Our Oxen Correspondentj OTOROHANGA, Friday A profit of £36 11s 8d on the year's working was shown at the annual meeting of the Otorohanga Tennis Club. Mr. P. F. Skinner presided. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. F. O. R. Phillips; president, Mr. A. Fleming; vice-presidents. Messrs. P. F. Skinner and S. J. Forteseue; auditor, Mr. Fortescue; secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. Howarth; ground committee, Messrs. E. Rhodes, T. Underwood and A. Fleming; match committee, Messrs. D. Anderson and J. F. Trapski and Mrs. Patterson; general committee, Misses Corboy and Kerr and Mrs. Paterson, and Messrs. Underwood, Hudson, Anderson, Drube and Rhodes. It was decided to lay one court with asphalt and, if satisfactory, another two courts later in the season. Messrs. Skinner and Trapski were elected life members. Mr. E. White, who is leaving the district, having been appointed in charge of Putaruru i School, was presented with a case of pipes.
