AUCKLAND GUN CLUB
SUCCESSFUL YEAR REVIEWED There was a large and enthusiastic gathering of members of the Auckland Gun Club at the Otahuhu Trotting Club’s offices on Thursday, when the annual meeting was held. The president, Mr. C. H Drysdale, occupied the chair. In his opening address Mr. Drysdale complimented the club upon the successful season it had experienced. He specially referred to the Ladies’ Day and inter-club matches, and also to the success achieved by one of the members, Mr. B. Clinch, # in winning the L.B. championship and championship aggregate of New Zealand. Mr. Clinch, who was present, received an ovation from the members. A vote of condolence with the relatives of the late Messrs. A. Dobson, G. McEwin and H. Neilson was carried in silence, members standing. The balance sheet showed a balance of assets over liabilities of £344 14s lOd. A total of 29 shoots were held during the season, including home and home matches with Hamilton. The club’s pigeon championship was won by J. Donnelly, and the clay birds by C. E. Hodge. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. C. H. Drysdale; vice-presidents, Messrs. E. P. Mitchelson, R. H. Montgomery, A. E. Murphy, F. H. Seccombe and J. Williamson; treasurer, Mr. J. Williamson; secretary, Mr. T. J. Watts; committee, Messrs A. E. Murphy (chairman), D. Cairns, W. Curtis, W. H. Hazard, C. E. Hodge, I. Lomas, W. E. Grant, F. E. McKenzie, and G. Westbury; auditor, Mr. J. P. McMCullough. Trophies were donated by Messrs. E.
N. Barratt, D. Cairns. C. H. Drysdale, M. Delich, W. E. Grant, W. H. Hazard, C. E. Hodge, A. M. Bartley, A. E. Macredie, J. D. Jones, F. E. McKenzie, E. Montgomery, F. H. Seccombe, C. J. Welson, E. P. Mitchelson, Drysdale and Co., W. H. Hazard, Ltd., and the Pakuranga farmers.
