CRUISER EMDEN LEAVES

HOSPITALITY APPRECIATED FOSTERING SPIRIT OF PEACE (Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, Today. Before the German cruiser Emden left Wellington at 10.50 this morning for Suva, the commander, Captain Lothar von Arnauld, said he was deeply impressed with the reception and welcome received both in Auckland and Wellington, and he much regretted thdt the official programme of the tour prevented a visit to the South Island. He felt sure the visit had helped to clear away misconceptions and establish a spirit of friendliness. He hoped soon to be able to reply to the many hundreds of letters received by him from all over New Zealand, expressing goodwill and friendship.
