One of the best prices for a business section at Otahuhu was gained at a sale conducted at noon by C. F. Bennett, Ltd. The property was a corner section at the intersection of Great South Road and Avenue Road, and it was cleared at £2,625. The area was 33ft by 100 ft. The auction room was crowded and the spirited bidding revealed the interest in Otahuhu business properties. A six-roomed house in Church Street, Onehunga, offered by C. F. Bennett, Ltd., was bought in by the mortgagee, and when a house in Walton Street, Avondale, "was offered, it was passed in at £550. * * * For a two-storeyed house of nine I'ooms on a property. 107 Alount Eden Road, with a frontage of 42ft, £I,OOO was paid at a good auction. The auctioneer was George Walker, Limited. The mortgagee bought in at £9OO a propert> in Halsey Road. Epsom, containing a four-roomed bungalow. Richard Arthur, Ltd., conducted the sale. * * * A property of over four acres, with a five-roomed house, in School Road, Henderson, was sold for £950 by Samuel Vaile and Sons, Limited.
