RAIN INTERFERES WITH COUNTY CRICKET RESULTS OF THE MATCHES (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 10.15 a.m. LONDON, Friday. Rain in the first and third days again interfered with the county cricket. Hampshire v. Middlesex.—Hampshire in its first innings made 154 (Haig taking four wickets for 39) and in its second 165 (Durston taking four for 34 and Robins five for 84). Middlesex in its first made 192 (Kennedy taking six for 61) and in its second 129 for four wickets. Middlesex won by six wickets. Glamorgan v. Surrey. —Glamorgan in its first made 37 (Allom taking five wickets for 14 and A. Geary five for 22) and in its second IS3 (Bell 87 and Geary taking five for 48). Surrey in its first made 295 for six, declared (Sandham 187 and Mercer taking six for 76). Surrey won by an innings and 75 runs.

Yorkshire v. Northamptonshire.— Yorkshire in its first made 219 (Holmes not out 110, and Clark taking five for 38), and in its second 58 for four wickets, declared. Northants in its first made 102 (Dennis taking six for 42), and in its second 57 for one wicket. Yorkshire won on the first innings. Sussex v. Essex. —Sussex in its first made 248 (Bowley 100, and Nichols taking four for 57) and in its second 106 (Nichols taking six for 34). Essex in its first made 194 and in its second 53 for two. Sussex won on the first innings. Kent v. Leicestershire. —Kent in its first made 157 (Geary taking seven for 56) and in its* second 220. Leicester in its first made 114 (Wright taking five for 42) and in its second 182 (Freeman taking four for 60 and Woolley four for 51). Kent won by SI runs. Nottinghamshire v. Worcestershire. —Notts in its first made 350 for four, declared (Gunn not out 164, Whysall 72). Worcester in its first made 44 for seven (A. Staples taking five for 9). The match was drawn.

Oxford v. Lancashire. —Oxford in its first made 160 (R. Tyldesley taking five for 55) and in its second 139 for six. Lancashire in its first made 218 (Watson 76). The match was drawn.

Cambridge v. Gloucester. Cambridge in its first made 82 (Goddard taking nine for 21) and in its second 135 for three (Block 72). Gloucester in its first made 220 for three and declared (Hammond not out 113). The match was drawn.
