ARTS BALL ON TUESDAY
BRILLIANT SPECTACLE PROMISED
A rehearsal of items to be presented during the programme of the Arts Ball took place in the Operatic Society’s Hall last evening in the presence of the ball committee.
Novel and interesting dances directed by Miss Daphne Knight and Madame Valeska were submitted for the approval of the committee, who were very pleased with the work done, and expressed their appreciation of the efforts of the instructors and their pupils. The chorus of the Operatic Society also practised the item they propose to give, and acquitted themselves creditably. The final arrangements for the ball are now being made. The demand, for tickets has exceeded all expectations, and it is anticipated that there will be over 1,000 dancers on the floor, the majority being in costume or fancy dress. The ball promises to be one of the most brilliant spectacles of its kind ever seen in Auckland.
