TAUMARUNUI SHOW
SPECIAL TROPHY AWARDS (From Our Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. The following special trophy awards are announced in connection with the Taumarunui Winter Show: Rhode Island Red (poultry) North Island Championship: L. Fisher, junr. White Rock. North Island Championship: Mrs. E. M. Patterson. Abraham and Williams Cup for most points in agriculture went to W. Bell.The same owner also won Levin and Co.’s cup for most points in swedes and turnips, and Lalgety and Co.’s cup for most noints in swedes, turnips and mangels; also Sutton and Son’s cup for most‘points in swedes, turnips, mangels and carrots. Mr. W. Edwards’s cup for most points in the hay classes was secured by Mr. C. Parker. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company’s cup for the most points in swedes went to Mr. C. E. Stewart.
Mr. C. B. Simons’s cup for most points in horticultural exhibits was won by Mr. W. Bell. Poultry classes. —Foxley Cup, donated by Mr. C. B. Fullerton-Smith, for best utility bird in show, was won by Mrs. W. Warren.
Selby Cup, donated by Mr. A. B. Selby, for most points secured in the White Leghorn section, was won by Mr. D. M. Peek (open only to members of the Taumarunui Poultry Club). Mr. R. W. Smith’s gold medal, open only to Taumarunui Poultry Club, for most points in poultry section, was won by Mrs. E. M. Patterson.
The Watson Maud Cup. donated by Mr. W. Maud, for most points in the pigeon section, was won by Mr. B. S. Kench.
The Sun Newspapers, Ltd., special prize of one year’s f.ree subscription to !he Sun for greatest number of entries in the show was won by Mr. W. Bell, with 88 entries.
