WITH THE BOY SCOUTS
On the evening of Saturday, May 25. the first annual meeting- of the West Street Church of Christ troop was held, members of the committee and a large number of parents and friends being present, including the Rev. Campbell and Mrs. Campbell Assistant Commissioner E. B. B. Boswell represented Headquarters, and Mr. Thompson was in the chair. The evening opened with a few remarks by the chairman, followed by a series of games in which the Scouts and guests both took part, then the Scouts gave a demonstration of First Aid in two sections: “How it ought to be done” and “How it ought not to be done,” the second item causing much merriment. The Assistant Commissioner then presented four, service stars to the four Scouts who have been attached to the troop since its commencement, the boys having completed a full year’s service, and at the conclusion of this ceremony Mr. Boswell gave an address on the history and meaning of the Boy Scout movement. A camp-fire sing-song by the Scouts and a clever acrobatic turn by a friend of the troop were popular features of the programme. A dainty supper was provided by the committee ladies.
