ANNOYED WITH HAGEN

TWO BRITISH GOLF CLUBS INDIGNANT CANCELLED MATCHES (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 12.25 p.m. LONDON, Thursday. The Moor Park and Blackwell Golf Clubs are indignant at Walter Hagen’s withdrawal from his matches with Compston. Hagen’s manager telegraphed offering to refund the expenditures for the preparation for the matches, stating that Turnesa is willing to deputise. The Moor Park Club offered to accept Farrell and not Turnesa as a substitute. The club secretary pointed out that he had sold 1,000 tickets, made catering arrangements, engaged a staff and widely advertised the match.
