ALL-IN FIGHT PROPOSED
MINERS WEIGH DRASTIC POUCY WITHDRAWAL OF SAFETY MEN R«ed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Dissatisfied with the passive policy of the combined unions, the committee of the northern miners attempted at a combined meeting of union executives to enforce a drastic policy, including withdrawal of the safety men and an all-in fight. The enginedrivers opposed this, but the meeting recommended that a more drastic policy be considered. One speaker declared: “We must interfere with the economic life of Australia if we wish to win. We must shut up everything, pull out the safety men, and put the place in darkness."
