BOXING BOUTS FIXED
PROGRAMME FOR JUNE 3 TWO PROFESSIONAL FIGHTS The Northern Boxing Association’s programme for June 3 is definitely settled, and the two 10-round bouts between Joe Boyle and Matt Ha don, and Frank Taylor and Cyril Hurne. will be staged. The secretary, Mr. J. H. Watts, has received a communication from Hurne accepting the fight with Taylor. Boyle has commenced training at the City Fire Station, and Hatton is training at Henry Donovan’s gymnasium at Parnell. Hatton, however, is training during the day instead of at night. Taylor will start training at the Fire Station on Monday evening. Humes has not yet arrived in Auckland. In addition to the professional programme, two amateur bouts will oe staged. The first will be between r. McCarthney, Auckland heavy-weigm champion, and G. Frear. New Zealan University heavy-weight champion, over six rounds for a special tr °P“?' The other bout will be between welter-weights, Martin and Hoffey. The prize-money for the carnival win be in the vicinity of £2OO.
