TRAM, BUS AND TUBE
CO-OPERATION OF LONDON SERVICES BILLS PASSED IN COMMONS British Official Wireless RUGBY, Saturday. Two Bills designed to promote the co-ordination of the passenger traffic of London and to provide for the common management of the tramway, bus and tube railway services were read a third time in the House of Commons last evening. The promoters of the measures gave an undertaking that, if Parliament passed them, the cheap tickets and facilities—including workmen’s fares on the tramways—would be continued and workmen’s fares would be introduced on the bus services. It was also promised by the promoters that there should be further tube extensions to the districts of Greater London. These extensions would provide employment. Another undertaking given was that the number of traffic employees would not be reduced.
