PAPAKURA BRANCH The annual meeting of the Papakura branch of the Plunket Society was held on Thursday, the president, Mrs. E. D. McLennan, presiding over a good attendance. The annual report showed that, the society had been steadily increasing its activities in Papakura and surrounding districts, and had given a great deal of useful service to mothers and women in the district. T>e balance sheet showed a credit balance of £SO 10s 7d. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. E. D. McLennan: vicepresidents, Mrs. R. J. Willis and Mrs. J. F. Johnstone: secretary, Miss J. McConnell: treasurer, Mrs. C. S. Beechey: committee. Mesdames C. D. Earl. E. C. Foote R. Haynes, E. P. Hirst, W. McIlwraith, R. Naylor, G. M. Tilston. T. Walker, C. Wardell, Stabler, and Mrs. 11. Watters and Mrs. C. Grant (Karaka), Mrs. C. C. Munro (Clevedon), Mrs. J. Jarvie (Drury). The report made pleasing reference of Nurse Thompson, and showed in increase of 848 visits paid to the rooms for consultation and advice, the total visits paid during the year by mothers and children being 3,427.
