N.Z. Beauties to be Filmed in Colour
PUBLICITY WORK NEW PROCESS ARRIVING (From Our Resident Reporter) WELLINGTON, To-day. The whole of New Zealand s film publicity work will shortly be revolutionised by the introduction of a new process, following which the films will be made in colour. 4 LREADY on the water, on its way from the United States to the Dominion. is the first shipment of essential equipment for the making of Vitacolour films. At the same time the Publicity Department is watching carefully the talking picture, and may exploit it later. The new colour process will make plans for future films in the country a larger affair. Beauty spots already photographed will be done again in colour. Meantime the work is pushing ahead steadily. A long-standing grievance that the West Coast of the South Island does not receive sufficient attention has been ended by the production of four films of those districts.
Films are now* being made in North Auckland, and the “Winterless North” is to receive further attention. After that the camera men go to Tongariro National Park and the Hermitage for the winter sports. The comment of Mr. W. F. Donald that New Zealand publicity in England lacks punch it not understood in Wellington. Though English publicity is directed from the other end, much matter has been sent forward from the Dominion, films, photographs and striking posters being included in the material. Shortly, however, arrangements will be completed for widespread screening of New Zealand Government films in the United Kingdom.
