MANGERE EAST CLUB MEMBERS ENTERTAIN CARDS AND GAY MUSIC The members and friends of the Alangere East Tennis Club spent a very enjoyable evening at the Aiangrere Public Hall on Wednesday evening, when the first dance of the season was held to celebrate the closing of the season. Excellent music was provided by the Blue Bell Serenaders, and Aliss fcSigley played several extras. The duties of AI.C. were carried out by Air. D. James. A Aionte Carlo competition was tile centre of much gaiety, and was won by Aliss Steen and Air. Martin. For the non-dancers, a progressive 500 tournament held sway, the successful competitors being Aliss Olson and Alt'. Newson. Among those present were: Mrs. S 3. W. BALL AT TE AWAMUTU The Te Awamutu Club’s annual ball took place on Wednesday evening, and was well attended. Swift’s Orchestra (Te Kuiti) supplied the music, and extras were played by' Misses Wallace and Quinlan and Air. Anderson (Otorohangaj. The hall had been tastefully decorated with multi-coloured streamers. and the supper was excellent. The duties of AI.C. were carired out by Alessrs. D. Wallace, J. Coyne, D. Stewart, B. Hague and P. aCirns, while Misses K. Wallace and L. Bray attended to the secretarial duties.
