JUST A LITTLE PARTY

£25 FINE FOR SELLING SLY GROG CELEBRATING SHORE-LEAVE Five men, beer and a party—good fun until the host was apprehended by the law and charged with selling slygrog beer. Frisco Masolavich, a Dalmatian, was the man, and he was fined £25 by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. in the Police Court this morning for selling beer. Four men were charged with being on Masolavich’s premises but the charges were dismissed. For accused, Mr. J. J. Sullivan said that a party was at Masolavich’s and the beer was there because one man was off a boat and was having a good time while he was on shore. Mr. Hunt thought that the police allegations against Masolavich were correct. In refusing to accept the explanation given, Mr. Hunt said that Masolavich would have been well advised to have entered a plea of guilty.
