GOOD PROFIT
AMATEUR OPERATIC SOCIETY For the year ended March 31, the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society showed a profit of £552, of which £3Bl was derived from the presentation of “The Belle of New York.” Total assets now amounted to about £3,000. This was reported at last evening’s meeting, when Mr. W. Wallace Bruce presided. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. E. Earl, K.C.; vicepresidents, Messrs. A. W. Gillies, E. R. Davis, 11. P. Kissling, O. Nicholson, V. J. Larner, P. H. Upton, J. F. Ewen, A. M. Ferguson, E. A Anderson, E. J. Prendergast, Dr. C. E. Maguire. Dr. W. H. Parkes; honorary secretary, Mr. H. T. Goldie; honorary treasurer, Mr. J. H. Jackson; honorary auditor, Mr. X. A. Duthie; committee, Miss E. Rae, Messrs. A. V. Hunt, W. J. Crowther, G. C. Lyttelton, R. B. Giesen, L. P. Leary, R. T. Sawers. J. P. Stevenson, W. Wallace Bruce, F. E. de Guerrier, L. A. Eady and Captain H. J. Redmond.
