TAILORS’ AWARD

DISPUTE ABOUT WAGES With few exceptions agreement was reached on disputed points in connection with the Auckland Master Tailors’ Award, but matters relating to wages were referred to the Arbitration Court this morning for settlement. An appeal was also made for the exemption of cleaners and dye.rs from the provisions of the award. Mr. W. S. Maxsom supported the union’s claim and advocated an increase of wages from £4 15s to £4 19s.
