TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, reports: At the Te Awamutu sale on Thursday a good yarding of all classes of stock came forward. Beef was penned in full supply, and sold under keen competition at prices quite on a par with those ruling at other centres. Store cattle met with only a moderate demand, with the exception of high grade weaner Jersey heifers, for which there was considerable inquiry. A line of store woolly lambs offered failed to reach the owner's reserve. Prices ranged: Fat steers. £ll 15s to £l3 15s; heavy fat cows, £8 15s to £9 10s; do. medium weights, £7 8s to £S 7s 6d; light fat cows and heifers. £6 to £7 2s 6d; plain killable cows, £5 to £5 17s 6d; boner cows, £2 17s to £4: 2-year-old Jersey cross heifers, in calf, £8 to £8 10s; high-grade weaner Jersey heifers, £5 5s to £5 15s; small Friesian weaner heifers, £1 19s to £2 7s; springing heifers. £7 10s to £9 10s; dairy cows. £5 15s to £S 10s; bulls, £3 15s to £5; shorn M S. lambs. £1 Is.
