WORK—NOT SOUP KITCHENS
WANTS OF UNEMPLOYED MEETING IN INVERCARGILL Press Association INVERCARGILL, Friday. About 60 unemployed of Invercargill met this afternoon to discuss means of providing for the winter. The chairman stated he had interviewed a number of small tradesmen and they were all of the opinion that times were not too good. It was the Government’s duty to help, and the meeting should urge strongly the necessity for such help. They did not want soup kitchens, but employment. They were in the Prime Ministers constituency, and it was only right that they should expect him to do S °The h meeting finally decided to urge the Government strongly to provide employment in the district.
