NED KELLY’S BONES
GRIM MEMENTOES OF BUSHRANGER SKELETON UNEARTHED {Australian and N.Z. Press A ssociation ) Reed. 10.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day The skeleton of Ned Kelly, Australia’s most notorious bushranger, who was hanged at the Melbourne Gaol, in 1880, has been unearthed from the flagged yard of the gaol. The bones were exposed when a steam shovel tore the lid from the rough coffin. Immediately the bones were taken by workmen as mementoes, even the teeth being removed from the jaws.
