RETURNED SOLDIERS MEET
WAIUKU ASSOCIATION (From Our Own Correspondent) WAIUKU, To-day. The eleventh annual meeting of the Waiuku Returned Soldiers’ Association was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Waiuku, on Thursday evening, the president, Lieutenant-Colonel M. Aldred, presiding over an attendance of about 50 members. The report showed the assistance tlie Waiuku branch had been able to give to several of its members in the way of obtaining financial help. There was no increase in membership, which shows that the members are keen on the work. The following officers were elected:—President, Lieutenant-Colonel M. Aldred (re-elected): committee, Messrs. F. liams (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. P. Waters; auditor, Mr. W. S. Colbeck (re-elected); c ommittee, Messrs. F. Knight, J. G. Milne, J. McQuire, L. Wassell, D. Lawton, M. G. Brown and F. Gill. The appointment of delegates to the conference was left in the hands of the committee. The president expressed the wish that all returned men in the district would attend the parade on Anzac Day, whether they were members of the association or not, and thereby make the parade the largest yet held in Waiuku. ‘
