LIQUOR AT SOCIAL

SCOTTISH SOCIETY GATHERING DECISION RESERVED Press Association DUNEDIN, Friday. The Scottish societies of Dunedin held a social gathering in the Savoy Restaurant on January 30 last in honour of the visit of Major MacCrae and Lady Macßae to Dunedin. In the police court, to-day Phillip Barling, proprietor of the restaurant, was charged with having sold liquor on unlicensed premises, and also wAh having allowed liquor to be consumed m the restaurant. Evidence was given by the police as to the guests being supplied with liquor, but it was shown that the quantity was small. The magistrate reserved his decision.
